At Pockit Self Storage, all lease agreements are on a month-to-month basis, meaning you can vacate your storage unit at any time. We ask that you provide a minimum of 2 days' verbal or written notice at the location where you rent your space. There is no additional paperwork required—simply inform one of our Storage Consultants of your intended move-out date.
Once you've removed all your belongings from the unit, please remember to take your lock with you so we can confirm that you’ve fully vacated the storage unit.
Your monthly rent is due on the first of each month. We offer a nine-day grace period before charging a late fee. On the tenth day, your account will be considered delinquent, and a late fee will be applied. Please note that late fees cannot be waived, and the full balance must be paid immediately to prevent additional fees.
If payment is not received, access to your unit may be suspended, and your unit will be over-locked until the balance is settled in full. To avoid disruptions, we recommend paying your rent promptly each month.
At Pockit Self Storage, we make every effort to contact customers with delinquent accounts before taking any steps toward auction. As a tenant, it’s your responsibility to keep your contact information up to date so we can maintain open communication, and to pay your bill on time. If we are unable to reach you or resolve payment issues, auction proceedings may become the next step.
The timeline for placing a delinquent account into auction status can vary. If this occurs, we will send written notice to your email or physical mailing address, as required by law. To avoid this, we strongly recommend reaching out to your nearest Pockit Self Storage location and speaking with the Facility Manager as soon as your account becomes overdue.
If your unit is sold at auction due to a delinquent account, the proceeds from the sale will be applied to your outstanding balance. If the proceeds exceed the amount owed, a cheque for the difference will be sent to you. However, if the proceeds are less than the balance due, the remaining balance will be sent to collections.
To avoid this situation, we recommend keeping your account up to date and contacting us if you encounter any issues with payment.
